A survey carried out among Euro MPs shows that over 90% would prefer to hold all their meetings in Brussels and no longer travel to Strasbourg once a month for the plenary sessions. The Treaty of Amsterdam stipulates that sessions of the European Parliament are shared by Brussels and the Alsatian capital, but many Euro MPs are clearly fed up with the monthly trek to France.
Monthly trek to Strasbourg costs 180 million euros (US-$244m)
