Wow, Lufthansa and Air Berlin are really pissed off. The new "Willy-Brandt-International Airport Berlin-Brandenburg (BER)" should be opened in June 2012.
Hehe, nice try, fellas. Won't happen till March 2013.
But the schedules for BER have already been made - with whopping increases for arrivals and departures.
Tegel and Schönefeld, bound for burial, shall now compensate this miscalculation.
The buzz word is "squeezing" - fast changing of the gates. "Rush to get ready."
OK, if the air controllers can manage flights (inbound / outbound) every 3 minutes instead of 5, they shall show their proficiency.
But the governments in charge of the mess, Berlin & Brandenburg, SPD-led, have been quite surprised about the delay. Hmmmhh, really?
Oh my, I sense one has to be powdered with a full bag of pegs to really condone such a mismanagement.
Well, hibernation seems to be a neat excuse.
This was not the genuine "Made in Germany" label - this was really b.s. to the powers of ten, and no one of the big SPD heads seem to be acknowledging this, just the same bla-bla of theirs - "you know, fellas, not our fault - we're not in charge."
