The Berlin Bear should be crying for help: "Dear Lord, please send them brains so that they are able to scope with the mess they produce!"
The best German snooping journalism has put it to the focal point again. It has ridiculed Berlin's governing party SPD's former election slogan "Berlin is poor but sexy." and changed it to "Berlin is poor and silly".
Indeed, the federal city-state of Berlin and Germany's capital is financially rock-bottom with some 62 billion euros ($80.6 bn) of state debt, thus very poor. How come that Bild has labeled Berlin's SPD/CDU "grand coalition" administration intellectually challenged?
Not only has the administration's image-busting, disastrous management in terms of funding, construction and 'inauguration' schedule for Berlin-Brandenburg's prestige airport project "Willy-Brandt International Airport- BER" revealed a lack of reality and common sense, the current 'state police car sticker issue' has made them a laughing number again.
What has happened? Berlin's state police have procured 26 Volkswagen buses that need to become official police cars by getting a blue foil with the reflecting "POLIZEI" (Police) imprint.
Some obviously illiterate guys printed "POLZEI" on the foil. Then a non-police garage crew began outfitting all silver grey VWs with the faulty adhesive foil, not noticing that an "I" is missing.
After finalizing the "artworks" and shipment to the state police HQ, some literate guys there found out that they now have 26 unique 'POLZEI' buses. The estimated damage for this b.s. is some 1.000 euros (1.300 dollars) per vehicle.
OK, 26k euros are peanuts in comparision to 62 bn public debt.
But, Bild is also right in its evaluation - by 'connecting the dots' for the dismal score card this red-black city-state admin should get. Final score "poor and silly".
Now the best comes at the end.
A Berlin police official told Bild that the company that received the order must have gotten a faulty "master copy for the text".
Oh boy, this is worse than expected. And it shows - you can do a job without using your brain. OMG, how embarassing!
In some '1 € Shops', you get adhesive stickers for doors, btw, very popular in municipal, state or federal offices:
Sticker text:"You don't need to be notedly dumb to work here - but it's surely helpful."
